Barnsley Live 2024 is on the way - Here is what to expect!

Updated: Apr 29

We are just under two months away from one of the biggest parties in Barnsley, so let’s take a look at what to expect at this years addition of Barnsley Live!

When it comes to local music festivals, they simply do not come much bigger than this! As of the largest multi-venue music events in the North, the yearly event has become a staple on the South Yorkshire calendar welcoming over 200 artists to over 20 town centre pubs and bars.

So, what can you expect from this years Barnsley Live? Well, like every year, you’ll be able to navigate yourself around the town through the events free app. This will keep you updated with the venues that are taking part, who’s playing where, plus live adjustments to line-ups on the day.

Last year saw the introduction on The Glass Works stage in the centre of town, and due to popular demand, the stage will be back for a second year.

We also saw the curtain raised on the Barnsley Civic stage, who are once again offering a space for local musicians to show what that makes our local music scene as powerful and diverse as ever.

The organisers have also confirmed that a handful new venues will be making their Barnsley Live debut in 2024, adding to the varies stages all within walking distance from one another.

Matt Smith, one of the organisers of the festival said: “We love our town! Barnsley is so much more

than a small ex-mining town. Barnsley loves live music and this shows every year when Barnsley Live comes to town. We want to give people of our town a day to remember.”

The award-winning festival also raises vital funds for a local charity throughout the day, with Barnsley Carers Service being the main beneficiaries of this years event.

The charity provides carers aged 18 and over with tailored resources designed to improve their lives, health and wellbeing. They also help carers to find balance in their busy lives and to access the support they need and are entitled to.

You can keep updated with all the latest information on Barnsley Live via their social media channels, plus regular updates via Best of Barnsley.

Barnsley Live returns to the town on Saturday 8th of June, with the official line-ups dropping over the next few weeks.
