WHAT’S ON: Roy “Chubby” Brown’s 2023 show at Parkway Cinema to be rescheduled.

Roy “Chubby” Brown has announced via his socal media channels that some dates for his 2023 UK your will be rescheduled; which includes his show at Barnsley’s Parkway Cinema.



The comedian has reassured his fans that shows will not be cancelled, and that alternative times and dates will be organised later down the line. Via the statement, a spokesperson from the show says that the halting of the tour is down to “personal reasons” that were “unforeseen”.


The statement continues to say that “Roy is fine”, but he would like his supporters to respect his privacy at this time, stating that “sometimes other things, when they arise, have to take priority”.


The initial gig at the Parkway Cinema was scheduled for the 25th of February next year, and followed a host of shows in locations such as York, Blyth and Blackburn. The statement has also remarked that people who have already purchased tickets will still be able to use them for the rescheduled event.



Roy “Chubby” Brown has been entertaining crowds with his outspoken style of stand-up since the 1970’s. Despite his content being more than just “close to the knuckle”, he’s still one of the most celebrated British comedians of all time. His new show is one of a variety of live events that the Parkway cinema on Eldon Street are hosting over the next year, as the owners begin to transform the cinema into an exciting, multifunctional venue. Roy will be making an appearance at Parkway Cinema before Christmas on the 17th of December.
