There's a bag full of exciting things to do in 2023, and with music events for every taste, we wanted to help you out with five of the biggest gigs happening across the town.
Rhythm of the 90s
Remember when wearing tie-dye and sporting good old centre-parting was more than acceptable? Well it is once again thanks to the amazing team behind Rhythm of the 90s! The group have been performing since 2012 and taken the UK by storm ever since. This isn't one of your typical cover bands, but an original explosion of some of the biggest dance anthems the decade has to offer! More recently, they've been invited to play festivals such as Glastonbury, whilst also gigging around Europe.

Don’t Stop Queen Now!
Re-live the magic of songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure and Radio Gaga right here in the town as one of the largest UK Queen tribute acts heads to Barnsley! The band is known for being “authentic and entertaining”, with fans consistently complementing the group on how well they portray one of the biggest acts in British music history!

ABBA Bingo Wonderland
Get dusting off your flares, as this bingo event is like no other! With huge prizes and mini games across the night, the game is built around paying homage to one of the greatest pop groups of all time. You'll also need to be be ready to strut your stuff around the dance floor as ABBA attire is of course advised. Don't worry if you're still feeling the punch of the festive period, a full bar is availble during the event to keep yourself refreshed. This event is over 18s only.

Barnsley Live
Barnsley Live is an award winning multi-venue, free music festival held around the town centre providing local musicians a platform to demonstrate their talent. With around 200 artists performing across over 20 venues, the event is a family friendly day that has raised thousands of pounds for local charities and organisations since it was founded (and we'll be covering the event as well!)

Martin Kemp, back to the 80s
The hottest 80s DJ set is coming to Birdwell Venue this spring! The actor, TV personality and music legend Martin Kemp will be hosting and spinning the biggest and best hits of the decade. Selling millions of records worldwide as part of 80s legendary group Spandau Ballet, this is not one to be missed! If you adore the decade that brought you big hair and fish nets, you need to sort your tickets out quickly!
